Canadian rock band April Wine (known for their international Top 40 hit “Just Between You and Me”) and renowned British rock band Sweet (with 39 No. 1 singles worldwide including “Ballroom Blitz,” “Fox On the Run,” and more) come together to perform live at The Carson Center!
April Wine, formed in 1969 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, rose to international fame with their Top 40 hit “Just Between You and Me,” the first Canadian band featured on MTV. With over 20 albums and hits like “Roller,” “I Like to Rock,” and “You Could Have Been a Lady,” they earned 11 Juno Award nominations and multiple gold and platinum records. April Wine was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2009, the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2010, and honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for more than four decades of success.
Sweet, the British glam rock icons behind 39 worldwide No. 1 singles including “Ballroom Blitz,” “Fox On the Run,” and “Love Is Like Oxygen,” have sold over 55 million albums and inspired bands like Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, and KISS. Originally led by founding member Steve Priest, the group continues today under the stewardship of his family’s trust with current members Stevie Stewart (Bass/Vocals), Richie Onori (Drums), Jimmy Burkard (Guitar), Dave Schultz (Keys/Vocals), and Patrick Stone (Lead Vocals), carrying on the high-energy legacy that made Sweet a global phenomenon.
