POSITION: Unpaid Internship (Course Credit)
REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Assist Marketing Manager as necessary. Specific responsibilities include direct mail preparation, database maintenance, data entry, research, marketing literature preparation and distribution (brochures, posters, flyers), and other duties and tasks as assigned by the Marketing Manager or Marketing Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
DEMONSTRATED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Expectations: Intern will be expected to report to work on time, follow directions, communicate respectfully with all staff, complete tasks in a timely manner (tasks are time-sensitive) and adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth by the Center and staff.
Hours of Work: Working hours are arranged between 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, according to intern availability and work/school schedule.
Absence Policy: All absences must be arranged in advance. In case of illness or emergency, a phone call/e-mail to the Marketing Manager is as soon as possible is acceptable.
Phone/Cell Phone Usage: Phone use is monitored. Cell phone use is discouraged during work hours, except in case of emergency. Intern workstation is equipped with a company phone for business calls. Unnecessary personal calls during work hours are discouraged.
Internet usage: Internet use is monitored, and is available to intern to fulfill certain responsibilities. Checking personal email, visiting non-work related websites, chatting, audio/video streaming, downloading unauthorized programs, etc. is prohibited. Improper use of internet will result in dismissal.
Behavior: Intern is expected to behave in a mature and responsible manner at all times. Dating between interns or between interns & staff is strongly discouraged. Improper behavior resulting from this type of imprudent personal relationship will result in dismissal.
Visitors: Personal visitors are discouraged during work hours, except in case of emergency.
Dress Code: Neat, business casual attire. The following fashions are restricted: Jeans, shorts, low-rise pants, bare midriff, low-cut or crop shirt, skirts more than 2" above the knee, flip-flops, tennis shoes or heels more than 2 ½ ” high, form-fitting, tight or revealing clothing, t-shirts, tank tops, halters, sundresses/backless dresses, ball caps, excessive makeup/jewelry, visible body piercing or tattoos, excessively baggy clothing, unkempt hair/facial hair or unnaturally-colored hair.
